At East Doncaster Secondary College, we are proud to celebrate the achievements and contributions of our students through a broad awards program. Our approach acknowledges not only academic excellence, but also personal growth, leadership, effort, service, and achievement in co-curricular pursuits. By recognising a wide range of accomplishments, we aim to inspire all students to strive for their personal best and contribute positively to our school community.
Throughout the year, students are acknowledged for their efforts and successes across all areas of school life. Academic awards are presented to students who demonstrate outstanding achievement or significant improvement in their studies. These awards celebrate dedication to learning, persistence, and high performance across a range of subjects.
Each year, we host a formal Presentation Evening which a key event in our school calendar. This evening celebrates student excellence across all year levels and domains, including prestigious awards acknowledging the achievements of our VCE students. Families, staff, and the broader school community come together to acknowledge the exceptional efforts of our students in a warm and supportive setting.
Recognition is also embedded in everyday school life. Teachers regularly acknowledge student effort, growth, and improvement through cycle reports, classroom feedback, communication with Year Level Coordinators, and positive parent communication. These ongoing forms of recognition help to build student confidence, motivation, and a strong sense of belonging.
