Sports & Physical Education

A strong commitment to the ‘healthy body – healthy mind principle’ underpins our students’ involvement in an extensive Sport and Physical Education Program.

Our Physical Education classes are based on a sequential, activity based learning program that is compulsory for students in Years 7 to 10. It focuses on the identification and improvement of major fitness components, dominant movement patterns as well as fine and gross motor skills. VCE Physical Education builds a strong theoretical understanding to complement the practical component of the subject.

Our Athletics and Swimming carnivals and our Cross-Country events are based on our vibrant House System. They are wonderful examples of our community striving to be their best and further developing teacher and student relationships.

At East Doncaster we continue to have a vibrant and successful sporting program of which we are very proud. Students compete in both house and inter-school competitions. Sporting experiences include competitions in badminton, basketball, netball, volleyball, cricket, table tennis, football, soccer, tennis, golf and hockey.

We are proud of the high levels of participation shown by our students as they enthusiastically engage in individual and team pursuits. Every year we celebrate the sporting achievements of individual students and teams who win an impressive array of local, regional and state titles.
