As part of the 1 to 1 Digital Learning Program, families are requested to purchase a device, either Windows or macOS, which gives students access to a range of digital resources. The College’s Acceptable Use Policy governs the use of these devices, ensuring appropriate and responsible use of technology in the learning environment.
Some of the digital services that students use to enhance their learning include:
- Google Drive: Google Drive is used for file storage, sharing, and collaboration. This cloud-based software allows students to access their work from any location. Students can collaborate on projects using Google Docs and Slides, which support real-time editing. Teachers share resources, assignments, and feedback with students through this platform.
- ClickView: ClickView provides access to a wide range of educational videos across various subjects. Teachers use ClickView to deliver supplementary video content, enhancing classroom instruction. Students can also access the platform to support independent study and research.
- Campion eBooks: Through Campion, students access eBooks that replace traditional textbooks. This reduces the need for physical books and ensures access to updated learning materials. eBooks often include features such as search functions, highlighting, and note-taking, which assist students in studying and revision.
- Adobe Creative Cloud: Adobe Creative Cloud is used for creative projects, particularly in subjects like Media, Art, and Design. Applications such as Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and Illustrator provide students with tools for digital creation and editing. These programs are widely used in professional industries, offering students practical experience in using professional-grade software.
- Oliver Library System: The Oliver Library System allows students to access the school’s library catalogue to find both physical and digital resources. It supports student research by providing access to a wide range of academic texts, journals, and multimedia resources. The system also enables students to borrow and reserve resources independently.
- Microsoft Office: Microsoft Office 365 includes widely used programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, which students use for word processing, data analysis, and presentations. These tools are regularly employed in academic tasks, including writing assignments and project work.
- Compass: Compass is the central platform for managing student information and communication between the College, students, and parents. It is used for attendance tracking, timetables, school announcements, and assessment feedback. Through Compass, students can access their schedules, receive important updates, and submit assignments. Parents use the platform to monitor student progress, view reports, and communicate with teachers. It serves as a comprehensive system for maintaining administrative and academic records, ensuring that students, staff, and families stay informed and connected.
